On my mom’s visit to Saskatoon she insisted I take her around town to check out stores that included The Salvation Army Thrift Store located at 410 42a Street East just north of Circle Drive.
We had fun looking around the store and my mom even tried out an old piano. You can see that in the video. The Thrift Store has all kinds of things to buy including men’s clothing, women’s clothing, children’s clothing, footwear and accessories, books and magazines, muli-media (including some old records), furniture, housewares and kitchen ware, collectables, bedding and new mattresses, electronics and toys. We did not buy anything on this visit but many people find cool things there all the time. Most of the merchandise is gently used and donated but they “select only the best merchandise to ensure you get the highest quality items every day”.
They have some special deals for students and seniors and they even sell gift certificates. They also have a coupon corner on their website where you can get some good savings.
The Salvation Army Thrift Stores do a lot for the communities they are located in sending a message of compassion and hope.
There are two stores in Saskatoon but we only visited the one. You can visit their website listed below for more information about The Salvation Army and their mission with the Thrift Stores.

They are a really good thrift store selling quality second hand or used clothing, household items, current looks, authentic vintage finds, housewares, collectibles, books, furniture, and unexpected treasures. You can find some great bargains at Value Village. They carry used clothing from all kinds of brands like Reitmans, Penningtons, Banana Republic, the Gap, Eddie Bauer and many more. They also have new merchandise from closeouts. During Halloween you can get some new costumes, accessories, makeup and home decor. One thing Value Village is proud of is the fact that they have more than 140 nonprofut alliances that together they give back and provide opportunities in the commuities they operate in. It is true that no two visits are the same with people and organizations dropping off items every day. Value Village is a great place to find great deals and awesome savings.
Value Village has some unique opportunities for shoppers including a Stamp Pass, a Super Savers Club, and a gift certificate program.
Although this location is the only Value Village in Saskatoon their website says they are planning a new store opening in the Stonebridge area in 2012!
