This video is about our trip to the Cameco Meewasin Skatink Rink at Potash Corp Plaza on Spadina in Saskatoon and it was awesome. The rink is at the river edge site in Kiwanis Memorial Park right next to the Delta Bessborough Hotel.

The Meewasin Skating Rink was voted the “best outdoor skating spot in Canada” by Readers Digest in 2006. It has been in operation thirty years and recently had upgrades done.
The skating rink hours are:
Monday to Saturday 12:00 – 9:00 pm
Sunday 11:00 am – 9:00 pm
The skating rink rules are:
- It is free to skate. (but contributions to the silver collection are appreciated.)
- Skate rentals are free.
- They will close the rink at a wind chill of -31 ro when it gets really warm.
- They ask that you provide your own helmets and safety equipment
- The skating rink is for the public.
- There is no hockey allowed.

On Christmas Eve, leaving the liquor store on 8th Street in Saskatoon, I decided it would be a good idea to buy my girlfriend and her mom each some flowers. I have seen so much good marketing from Select Roses, the fresh cut flower specialist, on 8th Street over the years I decided to stop in and see what they had. Wow! Was I ever impressed. I had no idea what I was looking for or what to do. As soon as I walked in a nice customer service staff member approached me with a friendly smile and offered help. She started by asking me the right questions to figure out why I was there. I told her I had no idea what to get. She showed me the flower area and told me to go in and look around. She followed and walked me through the different bouquets. She obviously knew what she was talking about. And she was genuinely helpful. She made me feel comfortable right from the start. I decided on two similar flower arrangements, one with a pine accent and one with a cedar accent. I guess that is what they are called! She told me to pick out a card if I wanted while she got it wrapped up. She walked me through the entire experience. I picked a couple of cards and by the time I did both flower arrangements were ready to go. She then told me how to take care of them and sked me how long they were going to be in transport. I did not even care how much the arrangements were as the experience was so pleasant. As I was paying I looked at her name tag and below her name I think it said “new trainee” or something like that. If she was only in training imagine how good she will be when she can be called experienced. I was very pleased and will definitely return there. This is a recount of my true experience and was not asked to publish this. When I am given a great experience I have to tell people about it. Next time you are interested in an excellent flower arrangement in Saskatoon, make sure you stop by Select Roses. They have seasonal flower arrangements, Webkinz and other stuffed animals, cards, chocolates, flower vases, balloons and awesome service.

Saskatoon Locksmith – Tips to Avoid Getting Locked Out of Your House
I got locked out of my house the other day in Saskatoon and it was around -20 degrees out and about 11:00 pm. We tried to get in through some windows but the house was locked down like Fort Knox. We had no cell phone or money. We just went outside to move the cars around but left the house keys in the key bowl. It was freezing out! So we drove to a friend’s and invited ourselves in. Because they are the bestest of friends (hope they are reading this) and offered to lend us money until the next day to get a locksmith to help us out. Well we tried doing a search in Google and found results but not a lot of information and when we called some and no one answered. One listing in Google Places even had a towing company listed. Well I knew they would probably not be able to help but called anyways. Ofcourse they don’t work on houses! My friend posted on his Facebook page hoping someone would answer.

Within a couple of minutes someone said they just looked on Kijiji and found a locksmith that clamined they were 24 hours. Awesome and he was!! He showed up at the house with 20 minutes and got us in to our house within 5. Super nice guy and said that most companies in Saskatoon say they are 24 hours but are really not. Tip #1 – Leave an extra key with a friend or neighbour and memorize their phone number.
Tip #2 – Buy one of those magnetic key car holders or hide-a-keys, that you can stick to any magnetic parts under your car.
Tip 3# – You can always hide a key somewhere around your house. Not the best idea but if you have some good hiding spots it might be worth it.
Tip #4 – Keep a spare key in your car.
Tip #5 – Keep a spare key in your wallet.

Because they make an awesome plate of fish & chips. The batter is scrumptious and the service is delightful. They used to have a little dining area but now they have a full restaurant. Gibson’s is always packed at supper time and for good reason.
