In a small strip mall just off 8th Street in Saskatoon, is an awesome little Mexican Restaurant named La Bamba Cafe. This is an authentic Mexican restaurant. La Bamba has a lot of Mexican decor to make it feel like you could even be right in Mexico. They have great menu items like:
- Nachos
- Frijoles con Totopos (very traditional)
- Quesadillas
- Enchiladas Verdes (green Enchiladas – which apparently is the most popular dish AND no one else in Saskatoon has this dish)
- Flautas (chicken taquitos)
- Tacos do Carne Asada con Queso (steak tacos with cheese)
There is one complimentary basket of tortilla chips for every table. They have gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options available as well as a kid’s menu.

They serve all the good Mexican beers including Corona, Sol, Pacifico and Negra Modelo. Ofcourse it would not complete without Margaritas and they deliver!! They seem to have a lot of specials to choose from so can be nice on the budget.

To top it off, their service was genuine and really good!! A lot of smiles.

One of the best hidden gems in Saskatoon Pizza places is Pancho’s Pizza and Pasta on McKercher. They are obviously a favorite of area residents, evidenced by all the fan pictures on the counter and the thank you cards displayed throughout the waiting area. They have also received a lot of awards for their pizza which are plastered on the walls as proof. The staff are very friendly and Pancho can be seen making the pizza in the back area.

Moka Coffe Bar Dessert
We went there in the evening on a weekend and it was quiet. We had a couple of lattes and they were actually really good. We are picky and they were one of the best we have had. We also shared a peanut buttery dessert which hit the spot. The decor and atmosphere were great. The staff were younger but very good customer service and fast. We would definitely go again.

It has been open for several months now in 2012 and its claim to fame is its super fresh dough. The dough is hand made every day and is not from frozen. It is so fresh in fact, that if it sits too long the owner will throw it away!! How is that for fresh. I can attest to that as I had the Butter Chicken Pizza and it was amazingly fresh. Honestly, the one of the best pizzas I have ever had. He also cooked the butter chicken sauce to go as you can see in the video.
